Beckenbauer Wishes To See Germany Against Spain

Monday, August 15th, 2016

The legends come out of the shadows when the big league games are being played.

For instance, Franz Beckenbauer is known to be a legendary player of Germany. He thinks that Spain deserves to be opposing Germany in the quarter finals.

The progress of Germany has been good, but there is a long way to go. For instance, Germany has hammered Slovakia with a score of 3-0 and they have successfully entered the quarter finals of Euro 2016. On the other hand, Spain will be playing against Italy and the winner would be facing Germany in the quarter finals. In this context Franz has probably made this remark. The next match lined up for his country is on 3rd July. Being a legend in football himself, he has been talking about his team’s performance and keeping a close eye on the same as the Euro 2016 games are progressing.

Spain would definitely be a more challenging team to play against for Germany instead of Italy. They have been defending champions for two times in this tournament. The European championship tournament is now entering into the high octane rounds. Germany has booked a place in the last eight teams of the tournament. (more…)

Franz Beckenbauer isn’t happy in seeing Guardiola leave

Thursday, January 28th, 2016

It’s been a little over 3 years since Pep Guardiola accepted the managerial position and during this 3 year stay, the Spanish manager has been able to lift a number of big titles such as: Bundelsiga, DFB Pokal, UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. The Champions League is the only other real big piece of silverware that Guardiola has not sealed in the Allianz Arena but he is planning to add it to his collection in his last season in charge of the German club.

Even if Pep Guardiola is not able to secure the Champions League, the time that he has spent in charge of Bayern Munich is already considered to be a successful one, especially taking into consideration just how dominant that the German outfit has been in these past few years.

This is the last season of Guardiola as the head coach of Bayern Munich as he will be making his way out of the Allianz Arena in a few months’ time and replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, this is bittersweet news for Franz Beckenbauer as the former star of Bayern Munich unveiled his thoughts about this managerial that will be occurring at the end of the season.

“It’s a shame that Guardiola will leave Bayern. The team as it is, that’s all his work. He built this team, his thoughts and ideas are the foundation. But that’s the way it is. You cannot hold on to someone forever. And Bayern have secured the perfect replacement in Ancelotti.” (more…)

Bastian Schweinsteiger has rejected the criticism from club legend Franz Beckenbauer

Friday, October 2nd, 2015

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has rejected the criticism from club legend Franz Beckenbauer about his move to Manchester United.

The German international recently completed a £16 million transfer to United. It comes as a surprising news for all parties involved since Schweinsteiger was expected to retire at the Allianz Arena. However, he has chosen to move to United in order to experience a new challenge. Beckenbauer has questioned the reasoning behind a move to the Premier League where Schweinsteiger is an unknown quantity despite his pedigree with Bayern Munich and the German national team.

Schweinsteiger, though, has quoted the example set by none other than Beckenbauer himself, who moved to the MLS when he was entering into his 30s. Schweinsteiger says that he is feeling at the peak of his powers and that he is confident of proving himself at United. The 30-year-old has had been plagued by numerous fitness issues in the last couple of years. Last season was one of his poorest in terms of total appearances made. It does not seem to have improved during pre-season, as manager Louis Van Gaal criticised him of mediocre performances in the recent friendly games. (more…)

Franz Beckenbauer does not agree to the opinion that there has been improvement in the standard of Football

Saturday, June 27th, 2015

Franz Beckenbauer does not agree to the opinion that there has been improvement in the standard of Football in the Italian top tier in the recent times.

In fact, he reckons it’s weakened.

According to Beckenbauer, just because Juventus has been able to do well in Europe, people have started believing that the club Football in Italy has revived, but, it’s not the truth.

Addressing the media in an event, Beckenbauer said, “Juventus is world class and they have shown over the last couple of seasons that they would beat any team on their day, but, on the basis of the successes that they have achieved, we can’t judge the Italian Football in general.”

“For me, Italy is still not in the top bracket. If I have to pick, I would go with Spain at the top, Germany no. 2, England no. 3 and then, you can talk about the leagues in France, Italy etc.”

“It’s nice to see that an Italian team is in the European final, but, you will have to keep in mind that Juventus is a class above the rest of the teams going around in Serie A at the moment.” (more…)

The 31 year old Brazilian defender of Bayern Munich, Dante is regarded to be a solid player as he is a consistent player for the German club and has helped his club in winning 2 successive Bundesliga titles as well as a Champions League silverware during the 2012-13 season. Dante has lifted a lot more trophies with Bayern Munich in these past few years with consistently high level performances in each season.

Dante suffered a recent slip-up when performing for Bayern Munich during their Champions League match against Porto as the Brazilian defender was one of the reasons on why his club lost 1-3 after locking horns with the Portuguese club.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal knocked out of Champions League

Monday, March 30th, 2015

Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal were all knocked out from this season’s Champions League as all of the Premier League clubs failed to make it into the quarter-finals and this has ignited a backlash towards the English sides and in the league in itself with people claiming that the top tier league in England isn’t as good as it’s being claimed.

Even in the Europa League, the Premier League clubs are not able to make it in the Round of 16 as Tottenham Hotspurs lost against Fiorentina and was knocked out, Liverpool also lost against Besiktas. The only Premier League club that managed to survive the Round of 32 was Everton but they later lost after facing off with Dynamo Kyviv.

It seems like there is a European curse which is surrounding the Premier League that is not allowing any clubs in England on competing at the big stage as they just fall short but according to the 4 times Bundesliga winner, Franz Beckbauer believes that the English clubs are not going through a crisis and it’s only something temporary.

“It is a temporary problem. I am not very happy because there are no English teams in the quarter-finals. But in Germany we are having the same debate. We almost have the same problems. We had four teams in the Champions League but only one has survived, Bayern Munich. It is temporary. Sometimes you are very unlucky and you get defeated. Next year is another year.” Former star of Bayern Munich, Franz Beckenbauer said as he voiced his opinion concerning the current situation of the Premier League clubs and their recent inability on getting into the final rounds of the European competitions in this season.
