The 31 year old Brazilian defender of Bayern Munich, Dante is regarded to be a solid player as he is a consistent player for the German club and has helped his club in winning 2 successive Bundesliga titles as well as a Champions League silverware during the 2012-13 season. Dante has lifted a lot more trophies with Bayern Munich in these past few years with consistently high level performances in each season.

Dante suffered a recent slip-up when performing for Bayern Munich during their Champions League match against Porto as the Brazilian defender was one of the reasons on why his club lost 1-3 after locking horns with the Portuguese club.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal were all knocked out from this season’s Champions League as all of the Premier League clubs failed to make it into the quarter-finals and this has ignited a backlash towards the English sides and in the league in itself with people claiming that the top tier league in England isn’t as good as it’s being claimed.

Even in the Europa League, the Premier League clubs are not able to make it in the Round of 16 as Tottenham Hotspurs lost against Fiorentina and was knocked out, Liverpool also lost against Besiktas. The only Premier League club that managed to survive the Round of 32 was Everton but they later lost after facing off with Dynamo Kyviv.

It seems like there is a European curse which is surrounding the Premier League that is not allowing any clubs in England on competing at the big stage as they just fall short but according to the 4 times Bundesliga winner, Franz Beckbauer believes that the English clubs are not going through a crisis and it’s only something temporary.

“It is a temporary problem. I am not very happy because there are no English teams in the quarter-finals. But in Germany we are having the same debate. We almost have the same problems.We had four teams in the Champions League but only one has survived, Bayern Munich.It is temporary. Sometimes you are very unlucky and you get defeated. Next year is another year.” Former star of Bayern Munich, Franz Beckenbauer said as he voiced his opinion concerning the current situation of the Premier League clubs and their recent inability on getting into the final rounds of the European competitions in this season. Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer believes that winger Xherdan Shaqiri will be allowed to leave the club in the January transfer window.

The future of the Swiss international has been on the much speculation with many reports linking him to remain league clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United.Shaqiri is expected to cost around £ 15 million, but he has the potential to become much bigger than that. The 23-year-old was one of the players who impressed at the World Cup 2014 with Switzerland, but he has been starved of game time at Bayern Munich due to competition from the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery who play in his position as well.

It is not certain that a Premier League club will sign him given that he is attracting attention from the likes of Inter Milan, who may be prepared to offer more first-team opportunities. Playing regularly is the important thing forShaqiri at the moment. (more…)

Franz Beckenbauer, a German legend has been persistent in not disclosing who he voted for during the 2010 ballot.

He has been saying that he has nothing to hide and has refused to reveal if he voted for Russia or Qatar. He has also denied the fact that he was offered a bribe by either side to vote in their favor to conduct the World Cup.

He has been allegedly accused of corruption since the 2010 ballot after which he has not revealed things. He has called for an anticipated report of the bidding process by the FIFA and has been insisting that he had nothing to hide. When questioned if anybody had tried or had bought his vote he said that it was a clear no. He has denied to have been influenced in any way by anyone for his vote. He has simply said that what were was being said never really happened. Once a great player and manager is now being named by almost everyone as the one who has leaked emails. He has given away the details of the activities of some of the football senior figure before the vote of 2010.

It has been reported that a year prior to the 2010 vote Franz had traveled to Qatar to meet a former FIFA executive committee member who had been disgraced and also the country’s Emir. He had again been spotted as a member being invited by them after a period of five months. But the incorporation of Franz and denial of facts made him get banned by FIFA. The legend has not declared about the vote f 2010 ever in public but has hinted about backing Australia in the race of 2022 in the first round. Franz has firmly said that there is no evidence that the 2010 vote was corrupt.
