Aberdeen star Scott Brown has been lauded in the media for the way he has performed in the Franz Beckenbauer role at the club this season. German football icon Franz Beckenbauer is renowned to be the player who started the libero centre back role many decades ago.

Franz Beckenbauer is undoubtedly a football icon and he’s one of three men to lead their respective teams to the World Cup title as both captain and manager. As a matter of fact, he’s the second man to achieve the feat after Brazilian football icon Mario Zagallo. Apart from Franz Beckenbauer and Mario Zagallo, Frenchman Didier Deschamps is the other man to achieve the feat.
