MANDZUKIC MAY MOVE

The honorary president of Bayern Munich, Franz Beckenbauer admitted that there is a possibility of Mario Mandzukic leaving the club at the end of the season during the summer. The 27 years old Croatian footballer has been linked with a move to Arsenal and considering the fact that Robert Lewandowski is going to be joining Bayern Munich from Borussia Dortmund when the current campaign concludes, this puts Mandzukic’s role in the club under threat.

Robert Lewandowski made a name for himself when he blasted 4 goals past Real Madrid during the Champions League of last year and ever since that moment, Lewandowski attracted the attention of clubs all around the world and it was Bayern Munich the team that managed to sign him.

Beckenbauer told German sports magazine 11freunde: “Mandzukic could pack his bags. I see Lewandowski in the attack; his playing style is suited for Pep Guardiola’s ideas than that of Mandzukic.

“There are even more reasons why he could leave, even without him, Guardiola could still count on Thomas Mueller and Mario Goetze in attack.”

Arsenal still are in the in the lookout for a striker that can not only play alongside Olivier Giroud but that can also provide backup for the French forward and if the comments and prediction of Beckenbauer actually come true, then this is an ideal moment for the Premier League club to make the move for their long awaited player.

Julian Draxler is another player that Arsenal is keeping close tabs on as Draxler is willing to leave Schalke for Arsenal in this summer but there is a fee of around €35 million that Arsenal will need to pay if they want to sign him up.
